Joey Moss & Friends Golf Tournament

Over $41,000 raised, thanks to your support!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported the 1st Annual Joey Moss & Friends Golf Tournament, on Thursday August 16th at The Ranch Golf and Country Club.

The day was an absolute blast, celebrating WSA's 65th Anniversary and Joey's 55th Birthday. The more than 80 golfers in attendance were treated to beverages, wings, burgers, games, and more throughout the course.  The players wrapped up the day reception emceed by the one and only, Gene Principe, a silent auction filled with sports memorabilia and VIP sporting event opportunities, and broke in to a verse of `Happy Birthday' to celebrate Joey Moss turning 55 this coming September.

Thanks to everyone who was involved, we raised more than $41,000 which will go towards enhancing our programs and services for people with disabilities in our community. Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and participants for making this such a memorable day. Scroll down to view the photos from the day!

Welcome Sue White, WSA's incoming CEO!

The Winnifred Stewart Association welcomes Sue White as our incoming CEO.

Sue Photo.jpg

Sue has been actively working with and on behalf of people with disabilities, and in the social profit sector, for over a decade. As Vice President with Special Olympics Alberta she worked with over 3,500 athletes who have an intellectual disability to develop sport skills, social skills and self-esteem. Prior to that Sue was Finance Manager for The GRIT Program, an inclusive, early childhood program for young children with developmental disabilities.

Outside of work, Sue is also closely connected to the social profit sector. She is currently serving as Board Chair for the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations and with the help of her two children, Sue's family fosters assistance dogs in training for Dogs With Wings

The legacy of Winnifred Stewart is humbling and her belief that people with developmental disabilities have valuable contributions to make to our communities, is one that Sue embraces.  WSA is so excited to welcome Sue to the WSA family!

We will miss Larry Smook dearly, and we wish him the best in his future adventures. The past 12 years of Larry's leadership will always be remembered fondly and with admiration for his strong ability to advocate for WSA in the sector.

Grant MacEwan PREL 240 Class

Thank you so much to the PREL 240 class at Grant MacEwan for their extremely well put together Integrated Marketing Plans that they created for the Winnifred Stewart Association and more specifically, the Empties to WINN program. We very much look forward to reviewing the plans and recommendations that were provided and, hopefully, implementing some of the ideas and strategies!

It was a pleasure working with the PREL 240 class! Thank you for all of your hard work and your amazing presentations!
