Bea Bohm-Meyer, President

  • WSA Board member since 2010
  • Founder and President of The Bohm-Meyer Group Inc. 
  • Bachelor of Arts Special degree in International Political Science from the U of A
  • Over 20 years of experience facilitating individual and corporate growth, including working with non-profit organizations
  •  Sat on the Advisory Committee for the University of Alberta Corporate and Governmental Affairs and Inner City School Board
  • Sits on the Advisory Committee for the University of Alberta Executive HR Program, and a founding Mentor for the University of Alberta Venture Mentoring services program 
  • Sits on the Speaker's Committee for the Synergy Network, and is a big sister in the Big Brothers and Big Sister organization
  • Mother of 2 children and 2 dogs, avid reader, loves to run and ski, crazy dog lover

Timothy Jobs, Vice President

  • WSA Board Member since 2011
  • Research and Policy Analyst at Government of Alberta
  • Extensive experience with multiple Boards including, previous President of NAIT Students' Association (NAITSA)
  • Diploma in Business Administration with focus in management
  • Married and lives in southwest Edmonton with his wife
  • Master's in Business Administration with focus in economic development

Leon Pfeiffer, Treasurer

  • Joined Kingston Ross Pasnak LLP in 2000 following nine years of public accounting experience with an international accounting firm
  • Works exclusively in the audit and assurance advisory services area
  • BComm from U of A and became a CA in 1997
  • Extensive non-profit experience, including key issues such as governance, financial viability and risk management
  • Member of ICAA and CICA

Susan Surgenor, Secretary

  • WSA Board member since 1991
  • WSA Board Secretary for 18 years
  • Outreach Office with the Federal Government, focused on working with Seniors and Pensions and Old Age Security benefits
  • Actively involved in a number of volunteer and service club organizations
  • Passionate gardener, entertainer and traveler

Elizabeth Kjellbotn, Director at Large

  • WSA Board member since 2008
  • Long family history of involvement with WSA
  • Has a sister whose a recipient of WSA services
  • Over 25 years of experience in providing production services for local, regional, network, and international television programs
  • Recent experience with Kaizen West Productions Inc., Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. and Aquila Productions

  • WSA Board Member since 2012
  • Director of Corporate Services at Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd.

  • Formerly Vice Chair for the Birth to Three Society and most recently, Board of Director with Immigrant Access Fund

Gord Rajewski, Director at Large

  • WSA Board member since 2010
  • Regional Director for Northern Alberta of Williams Engineering Canada Inc.
  • Graduated from NAIT in the Building Construction Program
  • Has served on many volunteer boards in the past and currently a Board member on the Board of Junior Achievement, Northern Alberta
  • Married, father of 5

Dr. Sangita Sharma, PhD, Director at Large

  • WSA Board member since 2014
  • Centennial Professor and Endowed Chair of Aboriginal Health in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta
  • Obtained her PhD from the University of Manchester Medical School 
  • Has worked with numerous populations in over 20 countries
  • Dr. Sharma has over 125 peer-reviewed scientific publications, including one recently in the Lancet Oncology
  • Has been Principal Investigator of over 50 grants and was awarded the Silver Medal by the British Nutrition Society in 2010
